UBTFL10
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Upstream binding transcription factor-like family
01

Overview

Upstream binding transcription factor, RNA polymerase I-like 10 (pseudogene), abbreviated as UBTFL10, is a pseudogene in the human genome. As a pseudogene, it is unlikely to produce a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic target. Pseudogenes are genomic elements that resemble known genes but, due to mutations, do not function as protein-coding genes or have lost their original biological function. There is no evidence that UBTFL10 directly influences biological processes, disease processes, or drug responses. It is classified as a member of the upstream binding transcription factor-like family, but its status as a pseudogene removes it from consideration as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor in the context of drug discovery or therapeutic development[3].
