Overview

USP27X divergent transcript (USP27X-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene located on the X chromosome (chrX: 49876724) that is transcribed antisense to the USP27X locus[2]. There is insufficient published evidence that it produces a protein or serves as a direct therapeutic target; rather, it may regulate its neighboring USP27X gene (an enzyme involved in deubiquitination) via antisense mechanisms. No drugs or diseases are currently linked to direct targeting or biomarker roles for USP27X-DT/USP27X-AS1.

Biological functions

Currently not well-characterized; as an antisense lncRNA, potential functions may include transcriptional regulation of the sense (protein-coding) USP27X gene
03

Disease associations

Not established (no evidence that USP27X-DT/USP27X-AS1 directly participates in disease as a therapeutic target)
