Overview

Uterine cervix cellular tissue" refers to the collection of various cellular components forming the uterine cervix. This tissue is composed primarily of stratified squamous and columnar epithelial cells, underlying stromal fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, blood vessels, and resident as well as transient immune cells such as lymphocytes and macrophages[1][4][6]. Biologically, it provides a barrier to ascending pathogens, participates in immune responses, and is the anatomical site where human papillomavirus infection leads to pre-neoplastic and neoplastic changes. While not a druggable molecular target itself, individual molecules and receptors expressed by cellular constituents of the cervical tissue (such as EGFR, PIK3CA, and ERBB3) serve as recognized therapeutic targets in cervical cancer treatment[2][5][6].
