V-set and immunoglobulin domain-containing protein 10 (VSIG10) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily characterized by four immunoglobulin C2-like domains in its extracellular region. VSIG10 is a transmembrane protein primarily expressed on epithelial cells, both in normal and cancerous tissues, with high expression reported in epithelial cancers such as adenocarcinoma and predicted expression in dendritic cell subsets. Although its physiological function remains incompletely characterized, experimental evidence suggests VSIG10 can suppress CD4^+^ T-cell activation and cytokine release, highlighting its putative role as an immune checkpoint molecule and a candidate therapeutic target for immunomodulation in the tumor microenvironment. Early patent literature and preclinical studies suggest potential for the development of anti-VSIG10 therapies, though no approved drugs or established clinical indications currently exist[1][2].
