Target intelligence / Profile preview
VAC14 antisense RNA 2 is an antisense RNA transcript likely involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of the VAC14 gene. This non-coding RNA does not encode a protein or serve as a direct therapeutic target (for example, it is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor). Instead, as with other antisense RNAs, it may function to modulate the stability, transcription, or translation of the overlapping or nearby VAC14 gene, which encodes a scaffold protein important in phosphoinositide regulation in endosomal membranes[4][5]. No literature supports a direct pharmacological or clinical relevance as a target.
