Overview

While various pharmacological agents, such as triptans for trigeminal pain or muscarinic antagonists for autonomic dysfunction, modulate these systems, this pathway is an anatomical and functional network rather than a single molecular target. Consequently, it is classified as an incorrect target for molecular drug discovery purposes as it encompasses multiple distinct receptors, cell types, and physiological circuits.
