Varicella-zoster Virus Glycoprotein Antigens (VZV Glycoproteins)

Target
VZV Glycoproteins
Molecular classification
Viral Glycoprotein, Viral Structural Protein, Fusion protein
01

Overview

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) glycoprotein antigens are structural proteins embedded in the viral envelope, playing essential roles in viral entry, cell-to-cell spread, immune evasion, and pathogenesis. The most prominent VZV glycoproteins include glycoprotein E (gE), glycoprotein B (gB), and the gH/gL heterodimer. These glycoproteins are major targets for neutralizing antibodies and are used in diagnostic assays and vaccine development.
