Various pathogens

"Various pathogens" is an incorrect target designation that refers to a diverse collection of disease-causing microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and prions. This term is too broad and non-specific to represent a single therapeutic target. Pathogens are recognized by host pattern recognition receptors through conserved molecular patterns, but they are not themselves molecular targets in the therapeutic sense. For meaningful therapeutic targeting, specific pathogen species and their individual molecular components (enzymes, structural proteins, nucleic acids) must be identified rather than using this collective term.
