Target intelligence / Profile preview
Vascular occlusion is the process by which blood flow through a vessel is blocked, which can be complete or partial. Blockage is most commonly due to a blood clot, accumulation of fatty plaque, embolism, or external compression. This phenomenon can arise as a complication of medical procedures (such as dermal fillers), as well as in natural disease processes like atherosclerosis. Vascular occlusion leads to diminished or absent blood supply, potentially resulting in tissue ischemia, necrosis, and organ dysfunction depending on the affected region[1][3][5].
