Vascular smooth muscle cell calcium channels, primarily the L-type voltage-gated CaV1.2 channel, are critical for regulating vascular tone, contractility, and intracellular calcium signaling in vascular smooth muscle cells. These channels mediate calcium influx upon membrane depolarization, leading to vasoconstriction and influencing blood pressure.
