The vascular stem cell niche refers to the specialized microenvironment surrounding blood vessels that regulates the behavior, maintenance, and fate of various stem cells. This niche is characterized by its proximity to vasculature and is a critical component in multiple tissues, including bone marrow, neural tissue, adipose tissue, and others. The vascular niche provides both physical support and biochemical signals necessary for stem cell self-renewal, differentiation, mobilization, and quiescence.
