Overview

The vasopressin V1b receptor (V1bR), also known as vasopressin 3 receptor (VPR3) or antidiuretic hormone receptor 1B, is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) primarily expressed in the anterior pituitary gland. It is activated by arginine vasopressin (AVP) and plays a key role in regulating ACTH release and the HPA axis. Due to its role in stress responses, it is being explored as a therapeutic target for stress, anxiety, depression, and metabolic syndrome.
