VEGFC mRNA stability associated long non-coding RNA (VESTAR) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 14 and also known as LINC00638 or MGC23270[1][2][3][4][5][6]. VESTAR regulates lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by enhancing the stability of VEGFC mRNA, a key factor in lymphatic vessel formation[6]. Overexpression of VESTAR (LINC00638) has also been shown to inhibit inflammation and oxidative stress in fibroblast-like synoviocytes, suggesting a role in rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis[4]. There are no known drugs specifically targeting this lncRNA, and it is not recognized as a primary therapeutic target (like a receptor or enzyme), but it has functionally significant roles in cancer biology and immune regulation[3][4][6].
