Vesicle transport through interaction with t-SNAREs homolog 1B pseudogene 4 (VTI1BP4)

Target

Overview

VTI1BP4 is classified as a human pseudogene closely related to VTI1B, a gene encoding a vesicular SNARE protein involved in intracellular membrane trafficking, particularly at late endosomes and the Golgi network. Pseudogenes are genome sequences similar to known genes but regarded as non-functional, typically failing to produce active proteins due to mutations, deletions, or lack of regulatory elements. There is no known data supporting VTI1BP4 expression as a functional molecule, nor any established biological function, clinical significance, or role as a drug target. It is not considered a therapeutic target as there is no evidence it encodes any functional molecule, or acts as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter.
