Vipera ammodytes venom protein toxins represent the complex secretome of the nose-horned viper, widely regarded as the most medically significant venomous snake in Europe. Research into these toxins also explores their potential as templates for drug design, particularly in the fields of anticoagulation and analgesia, due to their high specificity for vascular and neural targets (PubMed: 23103301).
