VIPR1 antisense RNA 1 (VIPR1-AS1)

Target
VIPR1-AS1
Molecular classification
Other, Long non-coding RNA, lncRNA
01

Overview

VIPR1 antisense RNA 1 is a long non-coding RNA gene found on Chromosome 3, reverse strand, overlapping or near the VIPR1 locus. The RNA is transcribed but not translated into protein, and belongs to the lncRNA class. Its biological function is not well defined, but antisense RNAs can modulate nearby gene expression through various epigenetic or transcriptional mechanisms. There is no evidence that VIPR1-AS1 serves as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or druggable molecule in current biomedical literature.
