Virus Internalisation Inhibitor

01

Overview

A virus internalisation inhibitor is a molecule or agent that blocks the process by which viruses enter host cells after initial attachment. Viral internalisation typically occurs through mechanisms such as endocytosis (including clathrin-mediated endocytosis, caveolin-mediated endocytosis, and macropinocytosis) or direct membrane fusion between the viral envelope and the host cell membrane. By inhibiting these pathways, virus internalisation inhibitors prevent the virus from delivering its genetic material into the host cell cytoplasm, thereby halting infection at an early stage.
