Voltage-dependent anion channel 1 pseudogene 11 (VDAC1P11) is a human pseudogene corresponding to the VDAC1 family[2]. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble genes encoding proteins but are generally non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or other genetic alterations. VDAC1P11 does not produce a functional protein, and there is no evidence it acts as a receptor, transporter, enzyme, or other classical therapeutic target[2]. It does not currently have a recognized role in disease etiology, drug responses, or as a biomarker. Its use or mention as a drug target is most likely incorrect or due to confusion with the functional VDAC1 gene.
