Target intelligence / Profile preview
Voltage-dependent anion channel 2 (VDAC2) is a pore-forming protein located in the outer mitochondrial membrane. It facilitates metabolite exchange between mitochondria and the cytosol, playing key roles in cellular energy metabolism, apoptosis regulation, and calcium signaling. VDAC2 mediates local calcium transfer from sarcoplasmic reticulum to mitochondria and is implicated in cardiopulmonary diseases, spermatogenesis, and immune response.
