Vomeronasal 1 receptor 33 pseudogene (VN1R33P) is a human gene classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a nonfunctional remnant of a gene that encodes a protein in other species or evolutionary ancestors. It belongs to the vomeronasal 1 receptor (V1R) family, which in other mammals encodes G protein-coupled receptors involved in pheromone detection. VN1R33P does not produce a functional protein or participate in signal transduction or other characterized biological processes in humans.
