Overview

Vomeronasal 1 receptor 67 pseudogene (VN1R67P) is a human gene classified as a pseudogene belonging to the vomeronasal type-1 receptor family. Vomeronasal receptors (V1Rs) are typically pheromone receptors and are part of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily. However, VN1R67P does not encode a functional protein and has no established biological function, disease association, or role as a therapeutic or diagnostic target[5][7][9][3][6]. VN1R67P refers to a mapped gene locus in humans that is officially annotated as a pseudogene derived from a member of the vomeronasal receptor family. Unlike functional vomeronasal receptors (which act in chemosensation in some mammals), VN1R67P produces no functional receptor protein and has no recognized biological activity or therapeutic implications[9][5][8][1].
