Overview

Vomeronasal 1 receptor 81 pseudogene (VN1R81P) is a human genomic locus classified as a pseudogene; it is orthologous to functional vomeronasal 1 receptor genes found in other species that mediate pheromone signaling through G protein-coupled receptor mechanisms. In humans, VN1R81P does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have any established biological function, therapeutic relevance, or role in disease. It does not serve as a drug target, interact with any drugs, or act as a biomarker in current clinical practice.[3][5][7]
