Overview

Vomeronasal 1 receptor 9 pseudogene (VN1R9P) is a human pseudogene belonging to the vomeronasal 1 receptor gene family, which are homologues of pheromone G protein-coupled receptors found in the vomeronasal organ of rodents and some other mammals. Unlike functional members of the V1R family, VN1R9P is a pseudogene in humans, lacking protein-coding capacity due to disabling mutations. Consequently, it does not encode a functional vomeronasal receptor and has no established role in signal transduction, disease, or therapeutic intervention[1][2][3][4][6][7][10].
