Target intelligence / Profile preview
Vomeronasal 1 receptor 91 pseudogene (VN1R91P) is a human gene annotated as a pseudogene of the vomeronasal 1 receptor family[3][5][7]. Pseudogenes resemble functional genes but contain disabling mutations that preclude the production of a functional protein. In mammals, functional vomeronasal receptors are involved in pheromone detection and signaling, but the entire vomeronasal system is vestigial in humans. VN1R91P does not encode an active receptor and has no known functional role or significance as a therapeutic or biomarker target in biomedical research[3][5][7].
