Vomeronasal 2 receptor 10 pseudogene (VN2R10P)

Target
VN2R10P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, ancestrally, G protein-coupled receptor
01

Overview

**Vomeronasal 2 receptor 10 pseudogene (VN2R10P)** is a human pseudogene that is a nonfunctional member of the vomeronasal type 2 receptor gene family[1][5][7]. In other mammals, vomeronasal receptors are G protein-coupled receptors responsible for detecting pheromones and chemosignals, but in humans, VN2R10P is annotated as a pseudogene and does not produce a functional receptor protein[7]. There is no evidence to support a biological role, disease association, or any therapeutic targeting for VN2R10P in humans[5][7].
