Overview

Vomeronasal 2 receptor 19, pseudogene (VN2R19P) is a transcribed, unitary pseudogene located on human chromosome 19 (19q13.43)[1][7]. While the gene is homologous to vomeronasal receptors involved in chemosensory signal transduction in other species, in humans it does not code for a functional receptor protein. There is no evidence that VN2R19P has any biological activity, is involved in disease, or is a therapeutic or diagnostic target. The designation as a pseudogene means it is a remnant of an ancestral receptor gene, and as such, it is not classified as a drug target[1][3][5][7].
