VPS11 divergent transcript (VPS11-DT) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed from the region near the VPS11 gene locus. As a divergent transcript, it is presumed to arise from bidirectional transcription at a promoter and does not encode a protein. There is no evidence that this transcript is a validated therapeutic target, nor that it functions as an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or canonical signaling molecule. Its specific biological role is not characterized in the published literature, which is typical for most divergent noncoding RNA transcripts. Such RNAs may play regulatory roles in gene expression or chromatin structure, but direct experimental data for VPS11-DT is lacking.
