VPS51 pseudogene 13 (VPS51P13) is a non-functional pseudogene derived from the functional gene VPS51. Unlike VPS51, which is a subunit of Golgi-associated retrograde protein (GARP) complex involved in endosomal-lysosomal transport, VPS51P13 does not encode a protein and has no direct role in cellular physiology or disease mechanisms as a therapeutic target. Pseudogenes arise through gene duplication or retrotransposition, and while some can modulate gene expression at the RNA level, VPS51P13 has not been reported to have such activity[2]. It should not be used as a canonical molecular target for drug development or biomarker studies.
