Pseudogenes such as WBP1L pseudogene 7 are generally non-functional genetic elements, often arising from duplication or retrotransposition events, and typically do not encode functional proteins. Unlike its parent gene, WBP1L pseudogene 7 has not been demonstrated to have a biological role, function in disease, nor therapeutic relevance. No known drugs target this pseudogene, and it is not recognized as a biomarker or target in any clinical or pharmacological context[4].
