Overview

WHAMM pseudogene 3 (WHAMMP3) is a human pseudogene highly homologous to the protein-coding WHAMM gene, which encodes a nucleation-promoting factor involved in actin filament polymerization, membrane association, and microtubule binding, but WHAMMP3 itself does *not* encode a functional protein product and has no established biological activity or clinical significance[7][9]. It is sometimes annotated in gene tables due to its sequence similarity to WHAMM but is distinct from the functional WHAMM protein[7][9].
