WNT3A is a secreted signaling protein belonging to the Wnt family, crucial for embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and disease. It plays a pivotal role in mesoderm and neural tube formation during embryogenesis. WNT3A activates the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, influencing cell proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation. Dysregulation of WNT3A can contribute to tumorigenesis. Recent research highlights its potential in regenerative medicine, particularly in nerve regeneration by enhancing Schwann cell function.
