Overview

WNT1-inducible signaling pathway protein 1 (WISP1), also known as CCN4, is a secreted matricellular protein and a member of the CCN family of extracellular matrix-associated signaling proteins. It regulates diverse cellular processes including cell adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, survival, motility, tissue repair, and wound healing. WISP1 plays a significant role in organ development, tissue regeneration, cytoprotection, and extracellular matrix production. It is implicated in various diseases including cancer, fibrosis, inflammation, and vascular disease.
