Overview

Wound healing support" is a general, non-specific term referring to interventions or processes that aid the repair of tissue injury. Physiologically, wound healing progresses through four major overlapping phases: hemostasis (blood clotting), inflammation, proliferation (granulation tissue formation, angiogenesis, re-epithelialization), and remodeling (matrix reorganization and scar formation)[1][3][4][5][6]. Numerous cells (e.g., platelets, neutrophils, macrophages, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells) and signaling molecules (cytokines, growth factors, matrix proteins) cooperate in this process. There is no single molecule or receptor named "wound healing support," but rather an array of molecular targets may be modulated to support healing—such as inhibiting inflammation, enhancing growth factor signaling, or optimizing matrix remodeling[1][2][3][4][5][6]. Because it is a physiologic process and not a distinct molecular entity, it is incorrect to classify "wound healing support" as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or protein family member.
