The family is structurally characterized by novel folds with repeated transmembrane helices, but functional annotation is largely inferential, based on homology to proteins like XKR8 and XKR9[1][3]. There is no evidence of disease association, drug interaction, or biomarker utility for XKR7 specifically[5].
