XPOT pseudogene 3 (XPOTP3) is a presumed nonfunctional copy of the XPOT gene, which encodes a nuclear export receptor—exportin-t—responsible for exporting tRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm in a Ran-GTP-dependent manner[1]. As a pseudogene, XPOTP3 lacks protein-coding potential and does not participate directly in cellular pathways, drug interaction mechanisms, or disease etiology. Pseudogenes are frequently considered genomic "fossils;" most have acquired disabling mutations and are not transcribed or translated, although in some cases pseudogenes can have regulatory roles as non-coding RNAs or through gene expression modulation[2][6]. There is no evidence currently linking XPOTP3 to any therapeutic function, disease, or biomarker context, and it is not considered a drug target.
