Target intelligence / Profile preview
YAP1 pseudogene 2 (YAP1P2) is a partially duplicated genomic sequence of the YAP1 locus that does not encode a functional protein. It is one of several YAP1-related pseudogenes in the human genome, located on chromosome Xp23. Pseudogenes such as YAP1P2 typically arise from duplication or retrotransposition events; while some pseudogenes have regulatory roles in gene expression or disease, there is no evidence for YAP1P2 having a defined functional role in physiology or pathology.
