YEATS domain-containing proteins (YD proteins) are a family of chromatin-associated factors that play critical roles in the regulation of gene expression. The YEATS domain itself is a conserved protein module. YEATS domain-containing protein 3 is likely to function as a reader of histone acylation marks and regulate transcription by recruiting or interacting with various chromatin-modifying complexes. It may play a role in cancer and neurological diseases.
