YLPM1
Molecular classification
Other, Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit, RNA-binding protein

Overview

YLP motif-containing protein 1 (YLPM1) is a nuclear protein encoded by the YLPM1 gene in humans. It enables RNA binding and is predicted to act in the regulation of telomere maintenance, playing a role in the negative regulation of telomerase activity by binding to the TERT core promoter, particularly during embryonic stem cell differentiation. YLPM1 is classified as a protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit and is also involved in the negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. It is not a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[1][4][8][9].
