Target intelligence / Profile preview
YME1L1 pseudogene 1 is a genomic sequence with high similarity to the protein-coding gene YME1L1, but it is classified as a pseudogene. Pseudogenes do not encode functional proteins, and there is no evidence that YME1L1P1 is a therapeutic target, enzyme, transporter, or receptor. All known biological and disease relevance is associated with the YME1L1 protein, an ATP-dependent metalloprotease important for mitochondrial protein quality control and mitochondrial morphology. There is no evidence that YME1L1 pseudogene 1 is expressed, encodes a protein, or plays a direct role in any physiological or pathological process.
