Target intelligence / Profile preview
YWHAZ pseudogene 10 is one of ten pseudogenes associated with the parent YWHAZ gene in the human genome[1][7]. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to known genes but generally nonfunctional due to mutations or truncations that prevent the production of functional proteins. While a subset of pseudogenes can be transcribed or even translated, there is no evidence of YWHAZP10 encoding a functional protein or acting as a therapeutic target. Instead, its existence reflects evolutionary processes and genomic diversity associated with the YWHAZ gene[1][7]. The parent gene, YWHAZ, is a signal transduction adaptor of clinical significance in cancer and cell signaling, but these functional roles do not extend to its pseudogenes[1][2].
