YY1 associated protein 1 is a protein encoded by the YY1AP1 gene in humans. It is a nuclear protein that interacts with YY1 (Yin Yang 1) and is involved in transcription regulation. YY1AP1 is a component of the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex, playing a critical role in transcriptional regulation, DNA repair, and replication. It contributes to cell differentiation, proliferation, and the regulation of the cell cycle by acting as a transcription coregulator and enhancer of YY1-mediated gene activation. Mutations in the YY1AP1 gene are associated with rare diseases such as Grange syndrome and have also been linked to hematologic cancers. Despite its functional association with transcription factors and chromatin regulation, as of now no direct drug interactions or biomarker utilities are established[3][4][7].
