ZBED5 antisense RNA 1 (ZBED5-AS1)

ZBED5 antisense RNA 1 (ZBED5-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed antisense to the ZBED5 gene, a zinc-finger transcription factor[1][2][5]. ZBED5-AS1 acts as a cis-acting regulatory RNA, modulating gene expression without encoding a protein[1][5]. Its molecular role is largely uncharacterized, but functional studies reveal it promotes cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and inhibits apoptosis in lung adenocarcinoma cells by activating the ZNF146/ATR/Chk1 signaling axis and inducing the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT)[4].
