ZBTB46 antisense RNA 1 (ZBTB46-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) annotated in the human genome, classified as an antisense RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the ZBTB46 gene locus[3]. Its exact biological function has not been experimentally characterized, but, based on its annotation, it may play a regulatory role affecting the expression of the neighboring protein-coding gene ZBTB46, which encodes a transcription factor in dendritic cells and endothelial cell biology[3][7]. There is currently no evidence that ZBTB46-AS1 itself is a canonical therapeutic target, nor are there established disease roles or drug interactions for this lncRNA[3]. Note: Most functional, therapeutic, and disease association data are for the ZBTB46 protein-coding gene, not ZBTB46-AS1. The antisense RNA (ZBTB46-AS1) is recognized as a non-coding transcript, and information about its function is minimal and largely speculative at this time[3][7].
