As a member of the lncRNA class, ZFAND2A-DT is annotated as a transcript oriented divergently to the ZFAND2A coding gene and may function to regulate the expression of nearby genes, potentially through enhancer and promoter interactions, but no protein product or direct therapeutic applications are known at present. There is no available evidence for its use as a drug target, biomarker, or established involvement in disease. All current evidence indicates that ZFAND2A-DT is an annotated lncRNA, not regarded as a direct therapeutic or pharmacological target.
