Overview

**ZFP91 zinc finger protein pseudogene 1** (ZFP91P1) is a transcribed pseudogene, expressed as a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Unlike its parent gene ZFP91, which encodes an E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in non-canonical NF-κB signaling, ZFP91P1 does not encode a functional protein. Instead, ZFP91P1 has been shown to promote cell migration and proliferation in pancreatic cancer cell lines. Knockdown of ZFP91P1 impairs proliferation and reverses markers of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), suggesting a role in cancer progression. It is not classified as a therapeutic target, drug receptor, enzyme, or classic signaling molecule[1]. The pseudogene may serve as a novel biomarker in pancreatic cancer but lacks evidence as a druggable target or as a functional protein.
