Target intelligence / Profile preview
ZHX2 antisense RNA 2 (ZHX2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the ZHX2 gene locus. While its specific biological roles remain to be fully characterized, ZHX2-AS1 may participate in gene regulatory processes, including but not limited to modulation of the ZHX2 gene or other nearby genes. Antisense lncRNAs have been historically associated with influencing cancer-related pathways and transcriptional regulation, but there are currently no approved drugs or direct therapeutic strategies targeting ZHX2-AS1, nor is it considered a canonical therapeutic target. The gene is properly named and classified as a non-coding RNA based on available genetic and bioinformatics databases.
