ZBTB32 is a transcriptional repressor protein encoded by the ZBTB32 gene in humans. It features a BTB/POZ domain (protein-protein interactions), three Krüppel-type C2H2 zinc finger domains (DNA binding), and recruits corepressors (such as N-CoR, HDACs) to induce chromatin repression. ZBTB32 functions mainly in the nucleus to regulate gene expression in activated T and B lymphocytes and is also prominently expressed in testis. It suppresses immune responses, influences cell proliferation, and has documented roles in cancer development and progression. ZBTB32 is considered a hub gene/biomarker in colon cancer and correlates with immune suppression in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The protein interacts with FANCC, ZBTB16, VDUP1, Zpo2, and GATA2, mediating context-specific transcriptional repression and chromatin remodeling[1][4].
