Zinc finger and BTB domain-containing protein 39 is a protein encoded by the ZBTB39 gene in humans[2][3][6]. This protein contains both zinc finger and BTB (Broad-Complex, Tramtrack and Bric à brac)/POZ (poxvirus and zinc finger) domains, which are characteristic of many transcription factors involved in chromatin binding and gene regulation[1][3][6][7]. ZBTB39 is predicted to operate in the nucleus, where it acts as a DNA-binding transcriptional repressor, especially affecting RNA polymerase II-dependent transcription processes, and may also play roles in immune system regulation and cytokine production[2][6][7]. There is currently limited understanding of its physiological and disease relevance, with Duane-radial ray syndrome being the only directly associated disease[2]. It is part of the BTB/POZ domain family and is considered a transcription factor rather than a therapeutic target. No interacting drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns have been reported in the literature[2][3][6][7].
