Zinc finger BED-type containing 1 pseudogene 1 (ZBED1P1)

Target
ZBED1P1
Molecular classification
Other, Pseudogene

Overview

ZBED1P1 is a pseudogene in humans, officially named "zinc finger BED-type containing 1 pseudogene 1" and commonly abbreviated as ZBED1P1 or ZBED1P[1][6][7]. As a pseudogene, it is a non-protein coding DNA sequence that resembles the functional ZBED1 gene but is not believed to encode a functional protein product or have direct biological activity[1][7]. ZBED1P1 is not recognized as a therapeutic target, enzyme, receptor, or biologically active molecule, and there is no evidence that it is involved in drug interactions, specific molecular functions, disease roles, or safety concerns. It is distinct from its protein-coding paralog ZBED1, which is a transcription factor with known biological functions, but ZBED1P1 itself does not have assigned molecular or clinical roles[1][7].
