Zinc finger CCCH domain-containing protein 10 (ZC3H10) is a transcription factor and RNA-binding protein that acts as a specific regulator of microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis, particularly by binding to and negatively regulating the processing of pri-miR-143 through its C3H1-type zinc finger domains[4][5]. ZC3H10 is primarily localized in the nucleus and is involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Additionally, ZC3H10 has been shown to act as a novel regulator of mitochondrial function, enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and activity during myoblast differentiation, and its depletion leads to mitochondrial electron transport chain defects and altered cellular metabolism[3]. There is no current evidence for direct drug interactions or widespread recognition as a therapeutic target, but alterations in its function are associated with metabolic abnormalities, and it may play indirect roles in human disease mechanisms[3][5].
